The Jayco Herald Sun Tour has been reinstated with a UCI 2.1 ranking in 2014 allowing for WordlTour teams to compete in the 61st edition of the race.The Sun Tour begins in Melbourne with a twilight prologue on Wednesday 5 February around the Yarra river and will finish with a testing stage to Arthur's Seat on the Mornington Peninsula on Sunday 9.
Simon Gerrans is hoping to make it three overall victories at his home race but will face fierce competition from local riders looking to impress the international field and also from 2011 overall champion Nathan Haas who returns to the race in 2014 and likewise is looking to take home another win.
