T-Mobile's Jan Ullrich is apparently trying new ways of preparing himself to try and win the Tour de France this year. The European winter has allowed him to discover a new method of strength training: snow shoveling.
"I shoveled snow for three hours, to get the driveway and entrance to my house free. That was real strength training. Hopefully it won't give me too many muscles, which I will have to drag up the mountains," he wrote on his website, www.janullrich.de. "But seriously. Because of the snow chaos in Switzerland, I had to start my training camp in Tuscany later. But I didn't lose any time, because I trained every day on the rollers."
