He may only be 32 years-old, but Liquigas rider Magnus Backstedt will be the captain and veteran of the Italian ProTour team's roster at the Settimana Ciclistica Lombarda. Backstedt and 26 year-old Alessandro Vanotti head to the Italian event with the job of nurturing their younger teammates through the UCI 2.1 race.
Joining the pair will be Eros Capecchi, 20, Dario Cataldo, 21, Francesco Failli, 23, and Roman Kreuziger 20.
