Biography:
Gianni Moscon joined the WorldTour with Team Sky as a talented Italian rider in 2016, having won the Italian under-23 national title and finished just off the podium at the World Championships.
Before his career could really get underway, Moscon ran into trouble. He launched racial epithets at Black rider Kevin Reza during the Tour de Romandie in 2017, was accused but then cleared of intentionally crashing Sebastian Reichenbach in 2018, got disqualified the same year for punching a rider during the Tour de France, and was ejected from Kuurne-Brussel-Kuurne in 2020 for throwing his bike at another rider.
Moscon moved to the Astana team for the 2022 and 2023 seasons, then after one year with Soudal-Quickstep, he joined Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe for the 2025 season.
