The Tour de Langkawi, described by race organisers as "Most Challenging Race in Asia" returns for the 23rd edition in 2018. Although Langkawi doesn't feature racing wise once again, the pre-race team presentation will take place on the scenic Island. The race then transfers to mainland Malaysia for the eight-stage race.
Kangar has been chosen as the host city for stage 1 of the eight-day race that will see the peloton take in both the east and west of the country and climb the inland Cameron Highlands on stage 5. The race is again titled towards the sprinters but it is the ascent to Cameron Highlands that is set to decide the overall title.
Astana and Dimension Data are the WorldTour representative teams at the race with a number of Pro-Continental, Continental and national teams from across the globe joining them on the start list.
The Tour de Langkawi takes place 18-25 March with Cyclingnews to have full race coverage and news from Malaysia.
