Liberty Seguros has sold Roberto Heras' Golden BH bike in an eBay auction to raise funds for the victims of hurricane Katrina in the U.S. The auction ended on Monday, October 17 at noon CET, after 31,500 page views and 39 bids, which ultimately raised the price of the bike to 24,600 Euros.
Heras used the machine - a unique carbon prototype with some parts painted in Gold - in the last stage of the 2005 Vuelta a España when he won the race for a fourth record-breaking time. It is not known who purchased the bike.
