Dehaes to Silence-Lotto
Former Katusha rider finds refuge in Belgian team
Belgian Kenny Dehaes has signed a one-year contract with the Silence-Lotto team effective July 1, his management company announced Tuesday.
The 24-year-old was released from the Katusha team after he refused to sign a new anti-doping agreement which would have required him to pay five times his annual salary if he were to be found in violation of the anti-doping regulations.
Dehaes, a winner of a stage of the Tour of Belgium and 4 Days of Dunkirk last year, has been given an option to extend the contract through 2011.
