The Wahoo Kickr Bike Pro is the best smart bike on the market right now
The updates to Wahoo’s top smart bike make it a fantastic option for indoor riding
Indoor riding and racing are massively beneficial for cyclists. The quality training that comes from a good indoor session, where riders don’t have to deal with bad weather, traffic or poor conditions, can be second to none and really help generate fitness through boosting consistency.
A good indoor training setup is fantastic when it comes to making sure you are ready to ride, especially if you are short on time. Wheel-on or off trainers are very useful training tools, but a smart bike like the Wahoo Kickr Bike Pro can take your setup to the next level.
Investing in one of the best smart bikes around means no battling with thru axles and derailleurs to install your personal bike on a trainer each time you ride. Once set up to your measurements, the Kickr Pro smart bike will always be ready and waiting. Turn the power on, and you are ready to ride.
Launched in late 2025, the Kickr Bike Pro received some key upgrades and improvements, which means it retains its place at the top of the indoor smart bike tree. It has a more lifelike and immersive ride experience than ever. The Kickr Bike Pro has an RRP of $3,999.
Smart bikes have been around for a while, and this is the third generation of the Kickr Bike Pro. So what’s changed? Well, Wahoo has thrown even more at its latest flagship smart bike to refine the platform and further improve the rider experience.
The bike has redesigned handlebars and shifter controls. The bikes' handlebars feature custom-integrated shift controls, allowing riders to steer their avatars in training apps like Zwift, shift gears virtually and control the Zwift and Wahoo apps.
That means no reaching for a laptop or phone mid-effort, or when riding at threshold, you can control everything using the controls with your hands on the bars, just like you would when riding a regular bike.
The Kickr Pro also has some premium contact points in the form of a Fi'zi:k Aliante R5 saddle and the brand's Solocush bar tape wrapped on the 40cm wide, flared handlebar. Saddles are a personal choice, but Wahoo has been able to spec a good quality saddle and bar tape as standard. And if it really doesn’t work for you, it can be switched out in minutes thanks to a regular seatpost saddle clamp
The Kickr Bike Pro is as good as it gets when it comes to smart bikes; it’s the perfect option for indoor training, riding and racing, and can, of course, be used by multiple family members to exercise safely indoors.
The Kickr Bike Pro uses an aluminium and steel frame that’s finished in sleek blacks and greys. The bike is hugely adjustable, and you can use Wahoo’s setup app to inform or replicate your desired bike position and setup. There are also five different crank length options, meaning the bike can also be used to experiment with and tweak your riding position whilst monitoring power data if desired.
The bike's party piece has to be the built-in gradient simulation. An electronic motor lowers or raises the bike to replicate the same angles and riding sensations that real-world riding creates. As well as being downright exciting, this adds another useful training benefit to sessions or rides with climbing in by replicating the same positional and muscular demands riding uphill brings.
Hardware-wise, the bike has WiFi, Bluetooth, and ANT+ connectivity. There’s also automatic calibration built in, meaning you won’t ever have to perform manual trainer calibrations for accurate power readings, something which always seems to come at the wrong time before a key indoor session.
The Kickr Pro also now benefits from a new ‘Kickr Bridge’ function, meaning data from training aids like heart rate monitors is sent through the Kickr Bike, meaning sensor pairing is faster and easier, another setup snag that can take time and cause frustration. Power data transfer is now up to 10x faster, meaning no lagging for things like online virtual races, another potential issue with less powerful trainers and smart bikes.
Gearing options have also been taken care of; the built-in virtual gearing options let you customise your drivetrain brand and gear ratios, meaning the bike's gearing will be the same as your own bikes, so when you take to the road, things will feel the same.
The Kickr Bike Pro makes for the perfect indoor training companion. A dedicated platform to use indoors that perfectly replicates your personal bike position whilst eliminating any wear and tear to your own bike.
It’s more realistic than ever before and is the perfect ally for completing structured training sessions in your lunchtime power hour window, exploring tropical rainforests on riding apps like Zwift, or simply enjoying a relaxed ride indoors whilst the rain hammers down on your window. For peak performance and control indoors, the Kickr Bike Pro is the answer.
