Biography:
Carlos Rodríguez, nicknamed 'The Lion of Almuñécar' made his professional debut with Ineos Grenadiers in 2020 on a four-year contract fresh out of the junior ranks after he enjoyed success as Spanish time trial champion, winner of the Tour de Gironde and Gipuzkoa Klasika.
Rodríguez finished second in the Tour de l'Avenir to Tobias Johannessen in 2021 in his first full year in the WorldTour. In 2022, he won the Spanish national road race championship and made his debut at the Vuelta a España where he finished seventh overall, adding his name to the growing list of young Grand Tour contenders.
His 2023 season was interrupted by a collarbone fracture when he was involved in a crash at Strade Bianche, but he went on to make his Tour de France debut where he won stage 14 in Morzine and finished fifth overall.
