Overview
Dutchman Dylan Groenewegen (LottoNL-Jumbo) took the biggest one-day victory of his career Sunday, winning the reduced bunch sprint at Kuurne-Brussel-Kuurne ahead of French champion Arnaud Démare (FDJ) and Sonny Colbrelli (Bahrain-Merida).
A bunch sprint finish was only confirmed late in the race with Julien Duval (AG2R La Mondiale), Loic Vliegen (BMC Racing) and finally, Julien Vermote (Dimension Data)caught in the finale. Lotto Soudal and LottoNL-Jumbo and chief protagonists in making the catch and setting up the sprint. Groenewegen then finishing the job and adding to his Dubai Tour and Volta ao Algarve stages wins earlier in the month.
