January was meant to be month of preparation before his hour record attempt but that's not what happened for Rohan Dennis. He started the year with a silver medal in the time trial at the Australian national championships, then went and won a stage and the overall victory at the Tour Down Under.
The 25-year-old will tackle the record on February 8, looking to beat the distance of 51.852 kilometres set by Matthias Brändle late last year. Former national and trade teammate Jack Bobridge came up 500m short when he attempted the record on January 31,explaining pacing and rhythm as key to success.
