The Vuelta bids farewall to the Castilla y León region and heads to the north-western Galicia region. The first 80 kilometres are very flat before reaching the third category Alto de Ares. By this stage of the race, the riders who are out of the running for the overall title will be looking for stage wins. The stage has an uphill finish that will suit a powerful all-rounder.
