US team Slipstream Sports, who raced under the name Team TIAA-CREF in 2006, has announced the signing of former Phonak rider Patrick McCarty and Credit Agricole's Kilian Patour for 2007. The signing of the two 24-year-olds represents another step forward in the team's mission to obtain a ProTour berth and contest the Tour de France.
Patour, the 2004 French Espoir National road champion, brings valuable knowledge of France to the outfit and will act as leadout mane for sprinter Brad Huff while McCarty will join 2001 world champion Danny Pate as the team's co-leader.
