Jeremiah Bishop and Sue Haywood extended their leads over all rivals on the Cane Creek Cycling Components Land of Waterfalls stage 2, a day when riders faced eight stream crossings.

Riders also faced cold temperatures, so organizers provided a portable fire pit at the rest stop directly after the crossings.  Propane heaters were also brought in for the finish given the unseasonably cold temperatures for this time of year in Pisgah.

Bishop finished the day 18 minutes ahead of Sam Koerber and 19 minutes ahead of Christian Tanguy, so that he now enjoys a 20+ minute lead in the overall.

Haywood is in a similar situation.  She finished almost 10 minutes ahead of Cheryl Sornson and 13 minutes ahead of Carey Lowery for the day.  Haywood's lead is over 28 minutes for the overall classification.
