Puschel wins men's cross country
Women's race goes to Garcia
Javier Eduardo Puschel and Elisa Maria Garcia won round two of the Copa Chile cross country in Los Andes. Both riders confirmed their lead in the cumulative series ranking.
In the elite men's race, Puschel scored his second consecutive win of the season on the demanding Mount Madonna circuit, finishing in 2:01:29. Claus Plaut Guzman followed in second in 2:06.52, and third place went to Jose Catalan with a 2:13:30.
Plaut Guzman trails Puschel in the standings by 25 points. Martin Flaño is a further 30 points behind.
Garcia won the women's race - it was also her second win of the season - with a time of 1:23:49. Daniella Bunzli Rojas was second at 1:28:30, and Carla Ewert rounded out the top three with a 1:41:21.
With these results, Garcia consolidated her lead atop the standings, giving her a total of 150 points. Ewert sits in second with 125 points, and abriela Vargas is third with 115.
The third round of the Copa Chile will happen on October 3-4 in the metro area of Huinganal near Santiago.
