Crescent Vårgårda Women's WorldTour TTT - Overview
Boels Dolmans Cycling Team won the prestigious Crescent Vargarda Women's WorldTour team time trial held on Friday in Sweden. They covered the 42.5km course in 51:43, beating surprise runner-up team Cervelo Bigla by 36 seconds and last year's winning team Rabo Liv by 1:16.
What were one-day races on the World Cup in 2015, Sweden’s Crescent Vargarda’s team time trial and road race were added as the 14th and 15th rounds of the new Women’s WorldTour held on August 19 and 21, respectively.
It was the same 42.5km route between Vargarda and Herrljunga, where crosswinds typically play a factor in the race.
The teams started three minutes apart, travelled from Vargarda to Herrljunga before turning back along the same route. They then tackled a smaller loop around Vargarda and ended back at the start-finish line.
