A huge hit with riders and fans, stage 4 retraces its traditional path along the South Eastern Freeway - but only until the Eagle on the Hill turnoff, where for the first time riders will begin the windy route up Devils Elbow and the like.
Designed to give fans a better look at the climb (unlike the freeway, they can stop and watch on the old highway), the new route then winds through picturesque Adelaide Hills towns like Stirling, Mylor and Littlehampton before passing under the finish arch in Hahndorf.
The fat lady isn't singing yet though, as riders head out of town again for another two-odd hours in the hot seat. Both Laubman & Pank King of the Mountain and SA Lotteries Sprint points are up for grabs as cyclists weave their way north to Lobethal and beyond before racing back for a thrilling Hahndorf finish.
And don't miss the Unley Street Party: held annually on the eve of stage 4, it never fails to attract tens of thousands of people for a night of food, wine and cycling celebrations.
