The floor is opened up for the fast men and opportunists again, with very few obstacles standing between the start in San Martin de Valdeiglesias and the finish in Alcobendas. There's a cat 2 and a cat 3 climb about halfway along the route, but at 142km it's not a long stage, and this will also be encouraging to those riders looking for a stage win. Riders can almost smell the finish, but there's still the flat, all-out TT blast to go where GC riders can seal the deal on an overall win.
