A team fit for any race
There have been many changes to the Belgian squad’s roster and the arrival of André Greipel demonstrates the team is not just about the Classics. Fifteen riders are out with ten brought in. Philippe Gilbert stays and will be stalking Monuments such as Flanders and Liège-Bastogne-Liège; newcomer André Greipel has a score to settle now that he is his team’s principal sprinter and Jurgen Van Den Broeck might fancy a tilt at a grand tour podium after his fifth at the Tour last year.
Youngster Adam Blythe could be a revelation in the Classics after some solid results at the back end of 2010, when he won two stages and the overall at the Circuit Franco-Belge. Matthew Lloyd, who won the Giro’s climber’s jersey in 2010, broke his shoulder in the off-season but hopes to be fit enough to return to Italy in May for a go at the GC.
