Prologue - April 30: Genève ITT, 3.2 km

• Rik Verbrugghe (Lotto) leans his Litespeed TT bike into a corner on the way to winning the prologue by just 1.45 seconds

Stage 1 - May 1: Genève-Malleray/Bévilard, 187 km

• Giovanni Lombardi (Acqua e Sapone) - was well clear of Jose Enrique Gutierrez (Kelme) in the sprint for stage 1
• Giovanni Lombardi - raises his arms as he wins the first stage
• Rik Verbrugghe (Lotto) - is kissed on the podium after holding onto his leader's jersey

Stage 3 - May 3: Pringy - La Gruyère-Sierre, 180.3 km

• Giovanni Lombardi (Acqua e Sapone) - tastes victory for the second time, as he wins stage 3 of the Tour de Romandie.

Stage 4 - May 4: Sierre-Leysin, 144.4 km (86 km)

• A lone Dario Frigo (Tacconi) - ascending the final climb to Leysin in the snow, during the fourth stage
• Alex Zulle (Team Coast) - triumphs in the snow in Leysin

Stage 5 - May 5: Lausanne-Lausanne ITT, 18.3 km

• Alex Zulle (Team Coast) - during the final stage time trial in the Tour de Romandie, which he won.
