2006 Team rosters

Team Alliance Environmental

Sponsored by Alliance Environmental Systems, Inc. of West Chester, PA, Team Alliance Environmental will continue to focus on building one of the strongest elite amateur cycling teams in the USA's Mid-Atlantic region, while promoting the growth of youth cycling with its junior program.

This year, the team's racing schedule will aim primarily at a mixture of NRC events east of the Mississippi River, and regional races of historical impact - races that may not fall on the NRC calendar, but are important for sponsors and press coverage. The team will also race in most PA BAR races. It hopes to move to Continental status in 2007.

Last year’s team had a successful racing season, obtaining three Pennsylvania Best All-Around Rider titles, along with numerous other wins and podium appearances in the region. Jacqueline Paull won the PA Women's Senior BAR, while Michael Miller won both the PA Men’s 30+ BAR, for the third straight year, and the PA Men's Senior BAR. This was a welcome hand-off from Team Alliance Environmental rider Trey Reinhardt who had won the PA Senior Men’s title the year before.

Also returning for another ride are Dean Rittenhouse, Mark Light, and Karl Woitas, who enjoyed several wins each last year. Bill Short, who brought the new Fujis on board this year, will be riding both on the road and the track, as will Eddy Hollands from Australia. This isn’t Eddy's first time racing in the US, but it is his first time staying in the US for a whole racing season. Eddy has been racing in Europe and on the Asian professional circuit for the past few seasons with Giant Asia, Marco Polo, and other teams, and is a complete all-rounder with numerous Australian, European, and Belgian Kermesse wins and podiums, and Asian national Tour stage wins, podiums, and GC podium finishes.

Back again is the young Bartolo Torre, who spent two of the last three seasons living and racing in Belgium on his own and with the US U23 National team. New to the team is Ramon Benitez of Maryland, ranked at the top in the nation for category 2 and master’s road racing and criteriums. Training races have started, and the team is happy to be in good health and good spirits.

The team will be riding Fuji Carbon Team Issue frames with full Dura Ace, with the team vehicle being the all new 2006 Jaguar X-TYPE Sportwagon supplied by Land Rover/Jaguar of West Chester, PA. Rudy Project again will supply the helmets and glasses.
