Day 3 - January 11

Kappes and Beikrich give the fans something to cheer

Night 3 of the Six Days of Bremen was held in the presence of nearly 24,000 fans, including 12,000 school children from the north of Germany. They were treated to another excellent night of racing, with German duo Andreas Kappes and Andreas Beikirch coming out on top at the end of the night. Kappes and Beikirch amassed 217 points, 7 more than second placed McGrory/Gilmore, with Dutch pair Slippens/Stam in third on the same number points. The leading pair also managed to gain a lap on the field, after riding well in the Haake Beck Jagd, the evening's main madison race.

Adriano Baffi fell during this race in 41st minute, and was neutralised until the conclusion of racing. A new team was formed in the meantime, with Guido Fulst and Jean Pierre van Zyl. However, Baffi is expected to be back with Van Zyl on Sunday.
