Stage 4 - July 29: Xihai county - Qinghai Lake Hotel, 151.5 km

Australian team report

By Brian Stephens, AIS U23 coach

Stage 4 was fairly unexciting from the National team point of view but one Aussie, Glen Chadwick riding for the Marco Polo team had a good day running 5th and moving to 4th on the GC. The action started from the gun and the field split to pieces over the first and main climb of the day. Groups chased each other all day but the front group stayed clear from the original attack at 10km from the start. David Pell was in the original break but was dropped near the top of the climb. He eventually finished in a small group to run 21st. The stage was won by consistent Hong Kong rider, Kam Po Wong.
