The third edition of the Copa América de Ciclismo - the America's Cycling Cup - took place on January 6 in São Paulo, Brazil. This UCI 1.5 race attracted a peloton of 300 riders from Brazil, United States, Argentina, Chile and Uruguay.

After 10 rain-soaked laps (44 km) of the Interlagos Formula 1 track, the Brazilian Renato Rohsler was stronger than the American Matthew Decanio in the final sprint and won the 2003 edition.

Renato Rohsler (Caloi/Suzano/PowerBar) dedicated the victory to the memory of his former team manager Antônio Fernandes, who died last December.

In the women's event, Brazilian rider Janildes Fernandes da Silva (Acca Due O) was the winner.
