The 2021-22 cyclo-cross season is well underway having been in full swing since the big three series competitions kicked off in September and October.

Last month, the 'big three' of cyclo-cross – Wout van Aert (Jumbo-Visma), Tom Pidcock (Ineos Grenadiers), and Mathieu van der Poel (Alpecin-Fenix) – got their campaigns underway following a break at the end of their long road and mountain bike seasons.

Van der Poel is struggling with back pain but Van Aert and Pidcock are still facing off regularly, and beyond those two riders there's much more to look forward to as well.

The festive season has seen them and more big names in competition during a packed schedule which has included four UCI World Cup rounds as well as several X2O Trofee and Superprestige races.

The fields are packed full of major names in both the men's and women's race throughout the upcoming period, with Pidcock, Van Aert and Van der Poel joined by Eli Iserbyt, Tim Merlier, Quinten Hermans, Toon Aerts, Lars van der Haar and more.

Women's World Champion Lucinda Brand is set to compete against top riders such as Denise Betsema, Ceylin del Carmen Alvarado, Marianne Vos, Sanne Cant, and Blanka Kata Vas.

The festive season has also seen a number of American and Canadian riders make the trip to Europe to make their mark. Clara Honsinger, Katie Clouse, Maghalie Rochette, Gage Hecht, Curtis White, and Kerry Werner among those riders set to compete.
