Stacked field for 2019 Leadville 100
The 2019 Leadville 100 is set for the 26th edition of the Colorado off-road endurance race on Saturday, August 10, with a stacked field of road and mountain bike pros ready to compete for the 100-miler [160km] title.
EF Education First are sending Lachlan Morton, Alex Howes and Taylor Phinney to the race, with Trek-Segafredo's Peter Stetina also ready to contest the win.
The roadies will face a talented corps of mountain bikers, including 2016 winner Todd Wells, two-time and defending champion Howard Grotts, Payson McElveen, Jeremiah Bishop, Alex Grant, Rose Grant, Nina Laughlin and Sarah Sturm.
The high-altitude race starts in Leadville at 10,152 feet [3,094m] of elevation and climbs to 12,424 feet [3,786m] before returning to the finish in Leadville.
