Tour Ivoirien de la Paix for the first time

The inaugural Tour Ivoirien de la Paix has got no less than a 2.1 status on the African Tour. Two ProTour teams are participating, Crédit Agricole and Bouygues Telecom. Pro continental teams LPR Brakes and Elk Haus-Simplon, plus the continental team Amore & Vita McDonald's make up the European part of the peloton, taking on national teams from ten African countries.

General director is Jean-Claude Herault, who has 30 years of experience from the Tour de France. He was also in charge of the establishment of the Tour du Faso in Burkina Faso and the Tropicale Amissa Bongo in Gabon onto the international cycling scene.
