In memorium: World Madison champions Isaac Galvez and Joan Llaneras were scheduled to appear at Revolution 15. Tragically, Isaac Galvez died in a racing accident at the Ghent Six. Spanish riders Aitor Alonso and Unai Elorriaga flew over from Spain at their own expense to participate in Revolution 15 as a mark of respect to their compatriot.

Girl power: The Revolution series includes a season-long program of races for under 16 boys and girls. This winter, the youth series is sponsored by DHL.

Lesson 2:Keep hold of his hand, and pull him alongside you
Lesson 3: Move your arm forward, and allow your partner to push himself off from your hand. Words of tender encouragement are option at this stage. My thanks to Iljo Keisse and Marco Villa for demonstrating the art of the Madison change!

Respect: Everyone has somebody they look up to in sport. When Franco Marvulli was a boy, unconventional British pursuiter Graeme Obree was one of his heros. Little Franco is a few years older and a lot taller now, and has a few rainbow jerseys of his own…. but the respect never diminishes.
