City of Edinburgh RC maintained their grip on the Scottish sprint titles taking the top three places when day 3 of the Scottish Track Championship continued today (Sunday).
Marco Librizzi and defending champion Matthew Hayes both won their semi-finals in comfortable 2-0 rides against Martin Ross (Edinburgh RC ) and Graeme Steen respectively. In the final, Marco Librizzi proved too strong for Hayes winning 2-0 as Haynes tried to beat him first by leaving the sprint short and then trying a longer effort. Steen also won bronze 2-0 against Martin Ross.
The same City of Edinburgh RC trio had earlier retained their Team Sprint title beating the Edinburgh RC trio of Ross, Oliver Brooks and Ross Crook.
In very windy conditions Katrina Hair retained her Womens Pursuit title in a replica of the 2003 final this time catching her opponent Kate Cullen (City of Edinburgh RC) with 3 laps remaining. Emily Forde (Team Caledonia) took the bronze.
In the Youth events, Kevin Barclay made a clean sweep winning the Pursuit from Edinburgh Racers club mate Andrew Whitehall. Scot Robertson (Glasgow RC) took the bronze in the closest match of the whole championships with a last 1/2 lap effort against Ross Mitchell (Edinburgh Racers).
In the inaugural Youth B & C Omniums the honours went to Keiron McMahon and Patrick Galbraith (Edinburgh Racers) who dominated their respective events.
