Mega Magnesium

Thanks to their experience building shoes for Nike, Time, Look and others, Italian cycling shoe maker DMT has seen most every innovation in cycling shoes in recent years. When DMT wanted to build a truly innovative cycling sole, they eschewed carbon fibre to create a sole in molded magnesium, with an exclusive patented process that sets the new DMT Mag Force and Mag Light apart from any other cycling shoes on the market. DMT says that their new Mag sole is lighter, more rigid and disperses heat better than any other sole available. Mag Force has a buckle plus two velcro closure upper similar to DMT's popular Flash model, while Mag Light uses three velcros like their Kyoma model to close up.

Sidi Specials

Dino Signori, founder of Sidi shoes in Maser, Italy is acknowleged as the creator of modern cycling shoes, with many first to his credit like the use of Lorica synthetic leather and sole innovations like imbedded titanium hardware. But Signori has never been a believer in full carbon soles until now, with the launch of the Ergo 2 Carbon model. Sidi has an all-new carbon fibre sole with variable rigidity, depending on the zone of the foot that will not compromise blood circulation (thus causing foot pain) like a typical, board stiff carbon fibre sole. Sidi has mated their new Full Carbon sole to a revised Ergo 2 upper with SL closure and a new Heel Cup System, which allows the rider to custom adjust the heel diameter for a better fit.

Three Decades Of Vittoria Shoes

Located in Biella, Italy, Vittoria Shoes have a great reputation for style and quality. To celebrate their 30th anniversary, Vittoria has created two special models, Premium 30th & Unique 30th. Weighing in at a reported 194 grams per pair (size 41), Unique 30th has three velcro closures mounted on a one piece V Light upper that is bonded to Vittoria's Lightech carbon fibre sole.

Chain Drive

New kid on the block among Italian cycling shoe makers is Chain, located near Treviso. Chain has built shoes for many top Italian brands in their small artisan factory and decided to launch their own marque a few years ago. Designed by former Northwave shoe guy Stefano Meneghetti, Nova has a a buckle plus two velcro closure upper with attractive styling, mated to the CCT (Chain Carbon Technology) carbon fibre sole with air channels for maximum ventilation.

Cats Paws

MO.s.t. is a new Italian engineering & product development firm that creates innovative accessories like the oversize bottom bracket used by Pinarello in it's Dogma FPX and Paris Carbon models. MO.s.t. makes cranksets, handlebars and stems and recently introduced a line of stylish cycling shoes. All new for 2007 is the Panther X1 Carbon, a good looking variation of the buckle-two velcro upper with carbon sole theme.
