SRAM unveils Force and Rival road components, USA, April 6, 2006
The Force rear derailleur
incorporates SRAM’s new Exact Actuation cable pull geometry. This operates similarly to SRAM's 1:1 MTB geometry in that the amount of cable movement required to actuate a shift is exactly the same for each gear, regardless of position on the cassette. This is in contrast with other competing systems that have variable pull geometry which can produce different levels of shifting performance depending on chain position as well as dropout thickness, according to SRAM.
