Dream bike
We asked which bike from the
peloton you'd like to own if money were no object, and the answers
made this one of the most popular categories in the whole poll.
In fact we had such a diverse range of responses that we've had
to engage in a little 'creative accounting' to make sense of them.
The bikes have therefore been counted by manufacturer, and we've
included a couple of the most popular models from each builder that
were mentioned in the votes.
The envelope, please... In third
place, Pinarello's popular Prince and Opera models are objects of
techno-lust for many of you, but a couple of dozen more want to
be like Lance and ride one of Trek's team issue bikes, putting the
Wisconsin company into second place.
But the winner by a substantial
margin is Maestro Ernesto, with the Colnago C-40 and CT-1 widely
cited as objects of desire.
Eddy Merckx' Domo team bikes
and Litespeed's titanium featherweights took fourth and fifth spots,
and there were too many others with less than one percent of the
vote to list.
