Stage 2 - August 1: Mallacoota, 93.4kms
Dominant King
Eight laps of an 11 kilometre circuit greeted the field for the afternoon stage and again it would be the youngster who would dominate.
After a succession of attacks that were brought back by the peloton, a nine man group that included none of the top three from the morning's stage, got away and quickly built up a three minute lead.
Little known rider, Matt King, who like the previous stages winner is a former triathlete who is concentrating on the road, was very active in the front group and picked up many of the points and time bonuses available in the intermediate sprints and mountains competition
King has had a steady stream of good results this past year, including a win in the time trial in Germany's Tour of Rundfhart, and was 10th in last years junior world time trial championships.
King went on to win the stage in front of Zak Dempster, the current Australian time trial champion and Chris Jory, a youngster who is making steady progress up the ranks in Australian cycling and is looking to become a major force on the NSWIS FRF squad.
King also took over the lead in the overall from Jory by just 34 seconds.
