Race five of the decider for the series winners in A, B and C grades, while the ladies' series points was cut and dry with youngster Shannon McCurley taking maximum points to finish with 20.
The A grade race looked like is was going to be between Darren Spiteri, Charles Howlett, Jim Peachey and Jim Timmerarends. But Dave Gafa threw a spanner in the works by winning the last race, with Spiteri 2nd and Peachey 3rd. This gave the series to Spiteri on (12), with Peachey (9) leapfrogging Howlett for 2nd, Howlett (8) finished 3rd with a couple fastest times in the handicaps ahead of Gafa 4th also (8).
The B grade race saw Danny Gafa win race five to clinch the series with (14), from Glen Trevorrow (10), Bill Pace (8) 3rd & Brett Miller 4th. C grade came down to the last race also. Rod Ashworth out sprinted Ron Conway to take the series with 17 points from Conway (14) and Andrew Crozier (9) 3rd and Dean Gray (7) on a count back from Ashley Lucas (7). The Ladies was won by Shannon McCurley winning all five races gaining maximum points of 20 from Denise Twite (13) with Kerry Peachey (6) and Tania Baulch (4).
