At over 100kg, Roger Crawford was an imposing sight as he charged towards the finish line at the end of the 36km A-Grade race at Heffron Park on Saturday . Patrick Jones tailed Crawford for the length of the straight but couldn't overhaul him. On the line, Crawford was beaten by in-form rider Jersy Sowa. Fourth place went to Michael Cowan. All four placegetters were Randwick Botany Cycling Club members.

Keegan Aitchison (Southern Cross) had a strong ride in the 32km B-Grade event, winning in a time of 51min 25sec. David Huang (St George) was second with Richard Dodds (Sydney) third.
