72 riders faced the start in dry but cool conditions, with some smart riding by the middle bunches, enabling them to stay in front of a formidable scratch group. Div 2 was a perfect handicap, where all riders came together in the last 500m; 68 year-old Laurie Pearce showed them all how to finish a race on a winning note.
