Prologue - June 19: Schijndel, 7.6 km
Ignatiev rushes home first

Mikhail Ignatiev, Tinkoff Credit Systems' Russian prodigy, won today's prologue held in Schijndel, a town situated right in the heart of the Dutch region of Brabant. His time of 9 minutes and 27 seconds gave him an average speed of just over 48km/h for the short 7.6km circuit.
Ignatiev's teammate and fellow countryman Nikolai Trusov came in six seconds behind to claim second, with Belgian Sébastien Rosseler (Quickstep-Innergetic) taking third.
Ignatiev has had a great season so far, taking a stage win in the Tour Méditerranéen and victory in the prestigious Trofeo Laigueglia, before heading to the Giro where he attacked almost daily in the first week of the race. With team mate Troessov coming home second, it is looking more and more likely that the team will take out the Eindhoven Team Time Trial this Sunday, which according to team owner Oleg Tinkov, is the team's main goal for this period of the season.
The twice junior world time trial champion and 2005 U23 time trial world champion is the favourite for the event. His win also secures him the first leader's jersey as well as the points jersey, while Tinkoff also lead the team's competition.
Tomorrow's stage takes the riders from Schijndel to Nuth in the Limburg region of southern Holland, an area known for its steep climbs, narrow roads and of course the Amstel Gold race. The world championships have also taken place in this region on various occasions, most recently in 1998 in the town of Valkenburg.
