Gerolsteiner's Michael Rich won the final edition of the Grand Prix des Nations, an individual time trial run over 54 km in Elbeuf. Rich, who won the event last year, beat 2002 winner Uwe Peschel (also Gerolsteiner) with Spanish TT champion José Ivan Gutierrez (Illes Balears) taking third. The race celebrated its 68th edition this year, but will be scrapped from the calendar next year because of a scheduling conflict.

The men's race also saw Michael Rogers (Quick.Step-Davitamon) wearing his World Championship jersey for the first time, after the UCI declared Rogers to be the 2003 World TT Champion in the wake of David Millar's admission to drug taking to win the event. Rogers finished fourth, 1'13 behind Rich.

In the women's 27 km race, it was Swiss rider Priska Doppmann who was victorious, finishing well clear of French champion Edwige Pitel and Cathy Marsal. The U23 and junior men's races, also 27 km long, were won by Belgians Dominique Cornu and Michel Van Aelbroeck.
