Olson helps Colavita win back-to-back
Overall leaders work hard to maintain

Having two riders in the top ten is not enough for the Colavita Olive Oil team -- especially when teams like Health Net dominate the overall. So they just go out and win stages outright, starting with Nathan O'Neil in the prologue and again with Ivan Dominguez in stage four. But really, why not make it three? And why not with three different riders?
Such could have been the thoughts going through Aaron Olsen's mind as the five man breakaway he was riding with slowly began to lose time to the charging field. Through the final kilometers with the lead nearing just thirty seconds, the Oregon native took matters into his own hands and jumped the group to take the solo victory. Also for the third time this week, the Ofoto team, known for its aggressive riding style, was the bridesmaid, with Jason Bausch coming in second.
The overall contenders had to work hard again today, especially because one of the breakaway riders happened to be former elite road national champion Scottie Weiss (Subway-Express Racing), who was just 1:42 behind Horner in the general classification. However, with three Health Net riders also up in the standings, Horner had help in closing the gap to the threat.
Olson also took maximum points at all of the days sprints, taking him from zero points prior to fifth on the list, with teammate Dominguez still in the lead.
Tomorrow's final stage should be packed with attacks, as the Health Net boys try to put Lieswyn ahead of Horner. With just eight seconds between the two, time bonuses could be key in deciding who will come out on top.
Pic makes it two and moves up
Bessette's lead shrinks to eleven seconds
Tina Pic (Genesis Scuba) won her second stage today with a little help from her friends. Pic and the Genesis Scuba team had to chase down a solo break that had gained more than three minutes on the field. Becky Broeder (Verizon Wireless) tried to hold on to her impossible lead, and then just tried to stay with her chasers as they passed, but ended up finishing thirty-four seconds behind.
Second place overall Lynn Gaggioli finished second behind Pic with overall leader Lyne Bessette finishing third. The five second time bonus for Gaggioli put her just eleven seconds behind Bessette with two more stages remaining -- a tough 92 mile winding road race with three QOM climbs and a final criterium on Sunday.
Pic also keeps a firm grip on the points jersey for best sprinter while Bessette will need to keep an eye on Rona's Genevieve Jeanson tomorrow to maintain her eight point lead for the QOM.
