2002 Results Results Past winners

Today's criterium had two races: first a points score, which was won by Alejandro Valverde of Kelme, and second an elimination, where Gilberto Simoni was the winner in a tight sprint against newly-crowned world champion Igor Astarloa. Paralympic cyclist Javier Otxoa, who last year suffered a horiffic accident that also cost the life of his brother Ricardo, was present at the race, thanking supporters and dedicating his recent win at the European Championships to his fans.
