Alessio Galletti (Saeco) won today's second race of the Due Giorni Marchigiana in Castelfidardo with a strong ride in the scorching heat. The Tuscan was part of a decisive two man move with Bo Hamburger, but then left the Danish rider on the final lap, riding the last 18 kilometres alone before celebrating the third win of his 10 year career. Thanks to his result, Galletti also won the combined classification of the Due Giorni Marchigiana.

Galletti's last win came more than two years ago when he won a stage at the Tour Down Under in Australia. "I'm not a youngster anymore but I'm still motivated to train and want to carry on racing. My job throughout my career has been to help my team leaders. This time I won for myself. I think I deserved it," Galletti said.
