Aupa Igor!: The Igor Gonzalez de Galdeano diary

Nationality: Spanish
Team: ONCE

Igor Gonzalez de Galdeano finished second in the 1999 Vuelta and fifth in the 2002 Tour de France, and is a multiple stage winner in the Vuelta as well as being ONCE's leader.

He was sidelined for the 2003 Tour after breaking his collarbone in June, at the same time fighting French bureaucracy over a non-UCI positive drug test for the asthma drug salbutamol. He did write an insightful diary for Cyclingnews readers which was widely appreciated.

Now he's back with his thoughts on the 2003 Vuelta - this time from a competitor's point of view.

The Igor Gonzalez de Galdeano diary is translated from Castellano by Martin Hardie
