Day 4 - January 22
McGrory/Gilmore maintain
lead
Belgian-Australian duo Matthew Gilmore and Scott McGrory are back at
the top of the leaderboard after night 4 of the Six Days of Stuttgart.
The pair put a lap into Italians Silvio Martinello and Marco Villa,
although they are slightly trailing on points (233 compared with 257).
Germans Andreas Kappes and Gerd Dörich are also a threat, finishing
on the same lap as Martinello/Villa in third place overall. Some way
back are Juan Llaneras and Guido Fulst, on 127 points and 2 laps behind.
Adriano Baffi/Etienne de Wilde beat Lars Teutenberg/Frank Kowatschitsch
in the first madison (30 minutes), while world champions Stefan Steinweg/Erik
Weisspfennig beat Martinello/Villa and Kappes/Dörich in the second madison
(200 laps/57 km). Thus, most of the points went to teams that were unable
to threaten the overall classification.
