Night 3 - January 15, 2000

The previous leaders of the Bremen Six, Swiss pair Bruno Risi and Kurt Betschart suffered setbacks tonight when Betschart developed problems with his knee requiring hospitalisation. Also, Australian Scott McGrory is suffering from the effects of his fall the night before, and has had to take some time out of the race. Their partners Risi and Madsen will ride together in the meantime.

The first chase was won by Adriano Baffi with his partner, Marco Villa, and Etienne DeWilde and Stafan Steinweg won the next. Italian/German duo, Martinello and Kappes now lead over Baffi/Villa with Risi and Betschart a lap down.
