German wins prologue

The opening stage of the Vodacom Rapport Toer in South Africa was a 1.6 km prologue along the sea front in Cape Town. The winner of the stage was a German (not that German though) - Olaf Pollack (Gerolsteiner), who completed the distance in 2 minutes 18 seconds, closely followed by South African's James Perry (IBM) and Malcolm Lange (HSBC). Baden Cooke, of Australia was in fourth place, sharing the same time as Perry, with Alberto Elli (Telekom) taking 5th.
