Stage 5 - Wednesday, August 31: Alcazar de San Juan-Cuenca, 176 km

Another day for the strongmen, with a flat parcours, high temperatures and high winds - but you can almost guarantee someone will want to fly the coop early and post a solo win. Shorter than the previous day's stage, the break may come unstuck on the final part of the stage where there are some slight undulations, including a cat 3 climb. This could allow teams to bring their sprinters to the front for a fast finish in Cuenca.
