Hanka Kupfernagel (German National Team) won the 23.3km individual time trial around Schleiz with a 10-second gap over runner up Regina Bruins (Cervelo). Russia's Olga Zabelinskaja (Safi-Pasta Zara), the current GC leader, was third at 26 seconds behind the leader.

"I'm very satisfied today's results," said Egon van Kessel, Sports Director of the Cervélo TestTeam. "Regina was strong today, especially because she came back into racing after a longer break."

The fifth stage of the International Thüringen Rundfahrt, around Schmölln will be 115.8km long, consisting of six loops on the same course.
