Following rest day number two, a stage into Switzerland's Locarno will mark the Giro's only excursion outside of its home country. A mostly flat stage, but expect a small escape group to get free as the sprinters teams will be tired or have abandoned from the previous mountain stages. However, if it does come down to a sprint look out for Locarno local Danilo Hondo (Serramenti PVC Diquigiovanni-Androni Giocattoli) to shine like Switzerland's Leo Amberg did 50 years ago when the Corsa Rosa last finished here.
