Prologue - March 13: Cundinamarca

  • Hernán Darío Bonilla (05 Orbitel) on his way to 5th place in the opening prologue. Bonilla won the following stage in the afternoon, and in doing so, took over the race leader's jersey from Ricardo Mesa (Lotería de Boyacá).

  • There were many club members and family that put in long hours to make the race a success. Here Dominic Galenti marshalls the course.
  • The main pack in the womens' Puddingstone Road Race. Rona rode the front protecting Genevieve Jeanson's leaders yellow jersey.
  • With a team of only 4 riders, Rona's talented team always rode the front to protect Genevieve.

  • Schroeder Iron attacked all day. Here Jake Erker and Pete Knudeson send alarm bells ringing through the peloton.
  • Cyclocross star Tim Johnson (Saturn) turns on the afterburners to reel in the breakaway.
  • Saturn riders take the whoop-de turn 3.
  • Tom Danielson (Saturn) locked up the yellow jersey with a devestating time trial in Stage 1. He set the new course record previously held by Tinker Juarez and Pete Knudeson
  • Karen Bockell (Rona-Esker), Alison Dunlap (T-Mobile), Megan Elliot (Saturn) and Helen Kelly (TDS-Salsa) formed the winning break.
  • Lynne Bessette (Saturn) and race leader Genevieve Jeanson (Rona-Esker) covered attacks all day to ensure Bockell's break would stay away.
  • Kristin Lasasso (Rona-Esker) negotiates turn 2.
  • Desira Utzig (Dasani) leads Genevieve Jeanson (Rona-Esker) and Amber Neben (T-Mobile) through a turn.
  • Alison Dunlap (T-Mobile) and Megan Elliot motor to keep the break alive.
  • Karen Bockell (Rona-Esker) and the charming Aussie, Helen Kelly (TDS-Salsa) ensured the break would stay away until the end.
  • XC World Champion Alison Dunlap (T-Mobile) was aggressive and powerful all weekend. She was also very kind off the bike. World Champ and world class!
  • Saturn rider puts the smack down!
  • The Kid's race has been a popular addition to PVSR. Here the kids line up in the staging area.
  • How did Helen Kelly (TDS-Salsa) podium in a close sprint with Bockell and Dunlap? She informs us it's the snappy shoe covers! We were very happy for this charismatic and talented Aussie!
  • Prime Alliance spent some time signing autographs for fans. They were also riding their new Pinarello Prince cycles with backwards bent forks and seatstays.
  • People line up for a signature.
  • The ladies love JV!
  • The race blasts by the Red Bull registration tent.
  • The closest race of the weekend was in Cat 4. Here Steve Ferretti (SC Velo) powers a breakaway that ended in a solo victory and 27 seconds over the field. 1 second short of overall victory!

  • Stephen Alfred in the Cody Racing colors for 2003 earned top seed in the match sprint with the fastest clocking.
  • Tanya Lindenmuth claimed the top spot in qualifying
  • New USABA pairing Carissa Whitsell and Katie Compton held off Pam Fernandes and Renee Duprell, another new matchup, in the Paralympic Tandem Sprints.
  • Jamie Staff (GBR) is quickly gaining valuable track sprinting experience - tested in this case by young US National Team Olympic hopefuls Giddeon Massie and Garth Blackburn in the early sprint rounds.
  • A painfully long yet eventually successful solo effort to take a lap earned Eric Saunders the win in the men's points race.
  • Erin Mirabella made quick work of the competition in the Women's 3k pursuit.
  • Tanya Lindenmuth saved her strength for the Sprints, putting away 2001 Jr World Sprint Champ Sarah Uhl.
  • Jamie Staff fought hard for his bronze medal, needing all three rides to get past Mark Guerin in the finals.
  • Marty Nothstein's ended his long day (200m, points race qualifying heat and final, all sprints rounds) with a silver medal - falling in the end to the top sprint seed Stephen Alfred.
  • Men's match sprint champions Alfred and Nothstein.
