Due to the popularity of the team time trial stage in races like the Tour de France and the Vuelta a España, the Hawkeye Bicycle Association will be hosting a team time trial state championship event in Columbus City, Iowa, USA on Saturday, August 20. The distance and format chosen is the same as the Olympics and World Championships from 1960 to 1992: Four riders per team, racing over 100 kilometres. The trial timing is set on the third rider for each team. This particular course is about 33.6 km per lap, meaning the teams will ride three laps. All teams are welcome to participate.
